the third and final cheater post

verdict: joshua tree is fucking awesome. i don't quite get it yet though. every single person there is a trooper, staying there for the summer with days that get up to 112 Fahrenheit, trudging through downtown, wearing pants. crazy. it kind of reminds me of slab city, with all the good people that live in seattle and less crazies. the people that live in joshua tree are the people that do it for themselves, hate the system/government/real world, and have taken it upon themselves to change. it hasn't really been developed at all, which kind of gives it a methed out feel, but once you walk around you see that it is not like that at all. there's a rad cafe called Crossroads that has a bunch of vegan options, and a cool coffee shop called Ricochet with cute aprons hanging on the wall, glass straws, local soap, and a cool lady named Tanya with pit hair and awesome tattoos.
